Ra Medical Systems Announces New Indications

Carlsbad, California, April 5, 2007 -- Ra Medical Systems, Inc., announced today that it received clearance from the FDA to market its PHAROS EX-308 Excimer Laser for two new indications, atopic dermatitis and leukoderma, in addition to psoriasis and vitiligo. Atopic dermatitis is one of the most prevalent skin disorders domestically and internationally, affecting both adults and children with chronic skin inflammation, irritation, and itching. Leukoderma encompasses a variety of conditions that result in depigmented lesions, or “white patches,” including vitiligo, post-inflammatory hypo-pigmented scars, and mature white stretch marks.

“Combined with psoriasis and vitiligo, these two new indications make the PHAROS EX-308 one of the most clinically relevant and versatile tools in a dermatology practice. It offers rapid, painless, non-systemic, and steroid-free treatment for these conditions which affect more than an estimated 5% of the total population,” commented Melissa Burstein, Ra Medical’s Vice President.

“The timing of these indications is ideal as Ra Medical prepares to exhibit at the upcoming American Society for Laser Medicine & Surgery next week,” said Steve Beal, Director of Sales. “Our newly expanded sales force is primed to educate our existing customers about these exciting and meaningful applications as well as communicate the benefits to new customers and their patients.”

“Receiving these indications under FDA 510(k) 062963 is a resounding confirmation of our regulatory capabilities and quality system,” stated Dean Irwin, President. “We are proud of this achievement and look forward to additional growth and expansion in the near future.”
