Ra Medical Systems and Advanced Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery (ADCS) announce they have joined forces to treat dermatological diseases across the country.
Advanced Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery, the nation’s largest dermatology practice with 157 locations at the time of this press release, will offer Ra Medical Systems’ Pharos excimer laser to treat psoriasis, vitiligo, and atopic dermatitis.
ADCS has more than a decade of experience with excimer lasers. After an extensive evaluation process, ADCS selected Pharos to be their exclusive excimer laser going forward in existing and new locations as they continue their nationwide expansion.
Pharos effectively, rapidly, and painlessly treats some of the most common skin diseases without systemic drugs or exposing patients’ healthy skin to UV light. Patients can enjoy remission from their conditions along with greater self-confidence and quality of life.
The Pharos excimer laser was brought to market in 2004 and has 12 years of clinical success in the US and more than 14 countries internationally. The first excimer laser for dermatology was originally developed by Dean Irwin, CEO of Ra Medical Systems, in 1998 and FDA cleared in 2000. In addition the Pharos excimer laser received CE marking approval in October 2016 to be sold in the European Union and all countries that approve the CE mark. Ra Medical Systems revolutionized the original technology by reducing the laser size by 75%, improving treatment speed and the accuracy of dose-delivery, while offering affordable acquisition options with no “fee per treatment” for physicians. Pharos laser treatments are reimbursed under special laser codes by Medicare and private insurance companies.
“Ra Medical Systems is very pleased to have been selected by ADCS as their exclusive excimer laser supplier. The evaluation process included technical, clinical, and financial reviews and we recognize this partnership speaks volumes about their confidence in our product and company,” said Dean Irwin, CEO of Ra Medical Systems.
